Charlie Lanier

Charlie Lanier, age 53, died Tues. November 11, 2008 in an industrial accident. Born in Bartow on April 8, 1955, Mr. Lanier was a lifelong area resident. He worked for Moretrench Contracting as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Lanier was also an US Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by his father C.H. Lanier, step mother Geraldine Lanier, and his mother Redia Bloodworth. He is survived by his son Stephen Lanier of Homeland, four sisters; Juanita Baker of Greenwood, SC, Lou Smith of Fort Meade, Peggy Johns of Lake City, Geri Wilson of Bell, two brothers; Ronnie Bloodworth of Palatka, Aaron Lanier of Bowling Green, and a step sister Sarah Schofield of Zolfo Springs. He also leaves behind a granddaughter Jasmine Lanier, and an aunt Verna Atwell of Fort Meade. Visitation for Mr. Lanier will be Sunday November 16th from 2 PM to 4 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Services will follow Monday November 17th at 10:00 at the funeral home chapel.
