Charles E. Register

Lakeland -Charles E. Register , age 77, passed away on October 21, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 26, 1946, in Bartow, FL. He was a Graduate of Summerlin Institute. He served in the United States Army starting Basic Training at Fort Campbell and was stationed at Di An, Vietnam where he served as a mine sweeper with Delta Company 1st Engineer Battalion. He received many medals during his service including National Defense , Vietnam Campaign , Sharpshooter, Vietnam Service, Army Commendation and Good Conduct. He was a Facilitator in Water Management. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed carpentry, teaching his grandchildren how to shoot, feeding & watching animals and being involved with his family. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill Register, Jack Register, Sherman Register & Bobby Register, sisters Geneva Hill & Eloise Holder and 2 grandchildren. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife Elaine Register of Lakeland, daughter Wendy Dow (Stuart) of Lakeland, son Chad Register of Nashville, GA, sister Charlotte Walker of Bartow, FL, grandchildren Makenzie Zonner (Christian), Jaret Dow (Kharla) & Thomas Dow and step grandchild Steven Crumbley & Cullen Crumbley. Family will receive friends Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home.
