Charles W. "Mac" McCall, age 89, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at his residence in Bartow of lung cancer. Born October 4, 1925 in Arcadia, FL, Mr. McCall was a resident of Bartow for since 1947, moving from Arcadia, FL., He was a Maintenance Engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation for forty years. He was a member the U.S. Army's 106th Infantry Regiment Divison serving in Europe in WW II. as Corporal during the Battle of the Bulge and a former POW. He was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church; He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 3, Bartow; former board member of Peace River Country Club, Mr. McCall was preceded in death by first wife: Corrie McCall and daughter Patricia Pike. He is survived by his wife: LaVerne McCall, Bartow; two sons: Michael McCall [Sandra], Bartow & Scott McCall [Robin], Mulberry, two daughters: Pamela Spiker [David], Lakeland & Susan Fullard (Jim), Bartow; 10 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren; brother: Ellis McCall [Virginia], Lake Placid. Family will receive friends Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford St, Bartow.
