Charles W. "Mac" Mccall

Charles W. "Mac" McCall, age 89, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at his residence in Bartow of lung cancer. Born October 4, 1925 in Arcadia, FL, Mr. McCall was a resident of Bartow for since 1947, moving from Arcadia, FL., He was a Maintenance Engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation for forty years. He was a member the U.S. Army's 106th Infantry Regiment Divison serving in Europe in WW II. as Corporal during the Battle of the Bulge and a former POW. He was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church; He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 3, Bartow; former board member of Peace River Country Club, Mr. McCall was preceded in death by first wife: Corrie McCall and daughter Patricia Pike. He is survived by his wife: LaVerne McCall, Bartow; two sons: Michael McCall [Sandra], Bartow & Scott McCall [Robin], Mulberry, two daughters: Pamela Spiker [David], Lakeland & Susan Fullard (Jim), Bartow; 10 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren; brother: Ellis McCall [Virginia], Lake Placid. Family will receive friends Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford St, Bartow. Interment with military honors will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1920 S. Florida Ave, Lakeland 33803.
