Charles Love Davis, “Papaw” born on February 6, 1927, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2017 at the age of 90. A loving husband, father and grandfather who would always put others before himself. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the members of Hospice for their caring support over the last few months. Papaw was always a feisty one…at 90 years young, he was not ready to slow down. He always wanted to Go! Go! Go! He was only 16 when he joined the U.S. Navy, after proudly serving his country he turned his attention to the open road He spent the next forty years as an over the road truck driver. He always loved telling stories of his time in the navy and the many stories of the times he would spend on the road. At times he may have been many miles from home, but he always carried his family in his heart. He was known for his strong hugs…as if he was holding you for ransom, he would often be observed, falling asleep sitting straight up. Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty and daughter Carol. He is survived by his daughters; Maria, Lisa and Ruth, his sons; Eddie, David, Randy and Kenny. Many grandchildren including Misty, Vanessa, Rene, Matt, Brittany, Drew, Keith, Beau, Joshua, Neko, Narissa and more than 15 great grandchildren.
