Charles Richard Losh

Charles Richard Losh, age 86, lost his battle with cancer at home surrounded by a loving family on Sat. March 6, 2010. Born January 31, 1924 in Erbacon, WV, he was the son of the late Odie A. and Mary Jane Losh. Mr. Losh moved to Bartow in 1941. It was there that Mr. Losh, a high school quarterback, married his cheerleader sweetheart 62 years ago. Mr. Losh was a Sergeant, in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII, serving as a Belly Gunner on a B29 bomber stationed in Guam. He was a respected Chemist for Dolime Laboratories, a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Bartow, the Bartow Lions Club, the American Legion Post #3 of Bartow, and was a dedicated family man. Charles is survived by his wife Lois Lucia Lott Losh of Bartow, two daughters Bertha Ann Losh Quint , husband (Dave) of Cincinnati, OH, Mary Jane Losh Sanchez , husband (Carlos) of Bartow, and one son Charles Richard (Rick) Losh Jr. of Puerto Rico, two brothers; Arthur Losh, and Gilbert Losh both of Bartow, three sisters; Stella Howey of West Virginia, Louise Berry of Winter Haven, and Marie Elliot of West Virginia. He also leaves behind six grandchildren; Jarrod, CJ, JD, Maryann, Amanda, Dale, and two great grandchildren; Caily and Nevaeh. A celebration of Mr. Losh’s life will be held Saturday, March 13th at the First United Methodist Church, 455 South Broadway in Bartow. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11am. Services will follow at 11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
