Charles Stephens Hughes, Sr.

Charles S. Hughes, Sr., age 87, was a loving, generous man who unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He was born October 18, 1936 in Bartow, FL to Robert & Fannie Lou Hughes. He served in the US Navy for 8 years. Charles worked in the mining industry for 43 years and retired as a plant manager for Cargill. After retirement he consulted for Cargill, building new plants in Australia and China. For the last 20 years, he worked at Bartow Ford. He was a member of Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing all over the world. Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years Beth Hughes of Bartow, FL, daughter Kim Hughes of Myrtle Beach, SC, son Charles S.
