Charles N. Cochran, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his home in Bartow. Born November 16, 1932 in Bartow, he was the son of the late Swink and Bessie (Newman) Cochran. Mr. Cochran was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for many years for his father's company, Swink's Wrecker Service in Bartow and later worked as a mechanic for Southeast Maintenance Construction. Mr. Cochran is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Cochran and his son, Charles Cochran, Jr. He is survived by a loving family that includes his children: Lisa Simpson (Mickey) of Lake Hamilton, Charles Darren Cochran of Bartow, his three sisters: Ophelia Parrish of Phoenix City, AL, Laverne Ingram of Auburndale, and Ravenell Caraway of Bartow. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Matthew Simpson, Amy Dunn, Michael Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Hunter Simpson, and his great grandchildren: Angelina Simpson, Anthony Simpson, and Hayden Dunn. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5th from 6pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, December 6th at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel. In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.
