Carolyn C. Hinton

Carolyn C. Hinton, age 89, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Bartow. Born June 7, 1926 in Malvern AR. to Cecil Leland and Helen Louise Clark. Mrs. Hinton was a resident of Bartow for 25 years, moving from Miami, Fl. Mrs. Hinton is preceded in death by her husband Harry L. Hinton, her sister, Patricia A. Clark;, brothers, William and Grover Clark. She is survived by her son Brian D. Hinton (Diane) of Bartow and daughter, Susan Roberts of Miami; a brother Cecil L. Clark (Roberta) of Oklahoma City, OK, three grandchildren, Jessie Roberts (Adelia), Matthew Hinton (Lauren) & Laura Lee Stutte (Corey); four great grandchildren, Jessie Roberts, Elijah Hinton, Preston Roberts & Jacob Hinton. Mrs. Hinton was an very active member of the Bartow First United Medithodist Church including the Sunday school class & bible studies. She served with the Emmaus Team, Celebrate Jesus Team, and Lay Speaking Ministries. She was active in the Bartow Garden Club, Bartow Lioness Club, Church Service Center, Bartow Tennis Club, American Cancer Society and was a chaplain with Bartow Regional Medical Center. Her parting words to all friends she was blessed to know " how wonderful to reach out to many angels." The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Bartow First United Methodist Church. 310 S. Broadway.
