Carol L. Keen

Carol Keen, 79, a long-time resident of Bartow, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her home of heart failure. Born in Sublette, Illinois, on October 12, 1933, to Harold and Mabel Oeschger, Carol was an accomplished pianist and brought joy to others through her music at numerous church affiliated events. She left this world as a loving mother, doting grandmother and faithful sister. She provided guidance and counsel to many, including family and friends. She will be remembered for her ability to tell animated and hilarious stories. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Keen. She is survived by her five children: Greg Whitehurst, Linda Lamoureux, Lisa Thaller, Laura Whitehurst, and Matt Keen; a sister, Donna Wagner; 15 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Bartow. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 455 S. Broadway, Bartow.
