Carey Alex Dixon

Carey Alex Dixon 64 of Homeland passed away Wednesday, August 24 , 2011 at his residence. Born in Bartow he was alifelong resident of the area and worked as a welder in the Construction and Maintenance Industries. He attended the Homeland Baptist Church and was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was preceded in death by his wife Carole Dixon and is survived by two daughters Kimberly Holder of Homeland and Cynthia Murray of Lakeland. One sister Patricia Harper of Homeland. One brother Carl Purvis of Lakeland. Four grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 2nd from 2-3pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow with services starting at 3pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow at tyhe Homeland Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund PO Box 3968 Gaithersburg, MD 20885-3968.
