Calvin C. Elder

Calvin C. Elder, age 87, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Winter Haven. Born March 16, 1933 in Plant City, he was the son of the late George Hurley Elder and Sarah Rosebud (Cook) Elder. Mr. Elder was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Radioman during the Korean War. Calvin retired from U.S. Agri-Chemical after many years of service as an Electrical Engineer. He also worked for N.A.S.A on all the Apollo missions out of Cape Canaveral. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Elder, daughter Sandra Lynn Elder and step daughter, Wendy Hannon. He is survived by a loving family that includes his children: Patti Tuttle (Thomas) of Bartow, Lisa Butchee of Winter Haven, Scott Morton (Melissa) of Lakeland, his siblings: George Elder (Florida) of Lithia, Flora Veriece Walker of Jensen Beach and grandchildren: Joey, Megan, Brian, Sandi, Brea and Madison. A private family service with military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date.
