Calvin G. Berry

Calvin G. Berry of Cape Coral, age 94, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 in Homeland, FL. Born July 21, 1923 in Morrill, KS, he was the son of the late Clarence and Laura Belle (Swearingen) Berry. Mr. Berry was a member of the Catholic Church and served in the Knights of Columbus for many years. Calvin served in the Merchant Marines in WWII. He was a founding member of the American Merchant Marine Veteran's Association and also was the National Treasurer Emeritus of the A.M.M.V.A. Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his wife Maxine Berry. He is survived by his children: Leo Berry (Cindy) of Old Town, FL, Patrick Berry (Dottie) of Trinity, FL, MaryAnn Barrow of Plant City, FL, John Berry (Kathy) of Homeland, FL, and Margarita Felio (Paul) of Batesburg, SC. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and his lifelong friend and business partner, Leo Selvey of Cape Coral. A funeral mass will be held Monday , June11th at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2180 South Kissingen Ave. in Bartow. Burial with military honors will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:00pm on Monday afternoon.
