Bruce B. Downs

Bruce Barkley Downs, Jr., age 54, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Lake Wales. Born in Lakeland on December 18, 1959, he was the son of Patsy (Spencer) Downs and the late Bruce B. Downs. Mr. Downs worked for many years in the refrigeration industry. He owned and operated Barkley's Appliance Repair in Bartow and greater Polk County area. In his younger years , Mr. Downs attended Asbury Methodist Church in Bartow. More recently, he had been attending Liberty Worship Church in Wahneta. Mr. Downs is survived by his wife Sarolyn Downs of Bartow, his son, Bruce B. Downs, III. of Lakeland, his daughter Loni Downs of Bartow, his mother Patsy Downs of Bartow, his sister Luanna Sheridan of Bartow, his grandchild, Jordan Leiser, his nephew Justin Sheridan, his step daughters: Ashley Bomar of Winter Haven, Micah Frasier of Bartow, four step grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 11:00AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.
