Lakeland -Brent F. Hicks , age 66, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Health and Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1959, in Huntington, WV. He was a dedicated Firefighter for Polk County Fire Rescue. He enjoyed hunting, mowing, target practice and sitting on his porch. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a special love for driving the fire engine. He is survived by his companion Teresa Flowers, daughter Heather Gerholdt (Joshua), son Joshua Hicks, brothers Ronnie Hicks (Barbara) & Ricky Hicks (Missy), grandchildren Rylan Gerholdt, Zachary Gerholdt & Ivy Hicks , stepchildren Dillon Flowers (Susan) & Travis Flowers (Morgan) , step grandchildren Freya Flowers, Amelia Flowers & Willow Flowers, niece Hayden Hicks and nephews Ronnie Hicks & Joshua Beegle . A special thank you to Jeff Mann and the Polk County Fire for all they have done. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.
