Bobby Currie

Bobby Currie, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Bartow. Born February 2, 1938 in Kannapolis, NC, he was the son of the late Robert and Myrtle Currie. Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an auto painter for several local dealerships before opening his own auto paint shop. Bobby is preceded in death by his son Scotty Currie. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 50 years, Shirley Currie of Lakeland, five sons: Lonnie Currie, Bobby Currie (Nan) Chris Currie (Terri) Jamie Currie and Shawn Currie. He also leaves behind three siblings: Debbie Locklear, Arthur Currie, Margie Barnes, along with 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel.
