Bob Boren

Robert L. "Bob" Boren, age 73 of Bartow, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Orlando Regional Medical Center from complications resulting from an auto accident. Born June 7, 1935 in Gallatin, Tenn, Mr. Boren was a resident of Bartow since 1958, moving from Tennessee. Mr. Boren was Plant Manager of General Cable in Tampa for 26 years. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. He was a graduate of Florida Southern College; a member of the Bartow Golf Club; former treasurer of the Bartow Performing Arts Guild & former member of the Tampa Committee of 100. He is preceded in death by a son: Bobby Boren, Jr. He is survived by his wife: Margaret L. Boren, Bartow; son: Andrew & wife Priscilla Boren of Bartow; daughter: Lee Anne & husband Jim Zingarelli of Lakeland; sister: Dorothy Smith of Nashville, TN; grandson: Andy Boren of Bartow & granddaughter: Ashlee Zingarelli of Lakeland. Family will receive friends Monday, August 4, 2008, 7-9 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Aug 5, 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 355 S.
