Blair Drake Mims, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday March 12, 2023. Blair was born in San Angelo Texas on September 7th, 1937. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband RL (Larry) Mims, her mother Mildred Bonham Drake and father Paschal Otho Drake, as well as her sister Nancy Drake Leddy, and her brother Paschal Otho Drake Jr.. Blair leaves behind her sister Lelia Drake Bankston, children, Ernest Landy (Shawna)Texas, William Landy (Melissa) Oregon, daughter Bo Reese Texas, stepdaughter Kelly White, Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. While living in Texas, Blair was a Pink Lady volunteer, she also enjoyed her bridge club, and attending Christian Women’s Club meetings. She loved to entertain, and with that came her famous pecan pie! Blair also loved her job and those she worked with and for at Fetterman Investments in Dallas Texas. She served this company for 18 years prior to moving to Florida. Blair was a lifetime Texan but moved to Palm Harbor Florida with Larry in early 2000’s, where she continued many of the same interests, but added some new activities to her lifestyle. She and Larry thoroughly enjoyed Florida living, visiting the beaches, playing and attending golf tournaments, and exploring the quaint towns in the area. Blair was known by the nurses and residents of Ansley Parke ALF for her sense of humor, her gracious demeanor and her never ending smile. Our gratitude of appreciation is extended to the staff at Ansley Parke, in Lakeland Florida, for the love and outstanding care that they helped to provide for Larry and Blair, as well as Vitas Hospice care.
