Bill Altman

Bartow- Bill Altman, 79, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Bartow Regional Medical Center of respiratory failure. Born September 11, 1931 in Bartow, Mr. Altman has been a lifelong resident of Bartow & Fort Meade. Mr. Altman was an automotive parts manager for Bartow Motor Parts for over 20 yrs. He was formerly with Altman's Amoco Service Station and Henry's Auto Parts, both of Bartow. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Bartow First Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons: David Altman of Portland, OR. & Donald W. Altman of Bartow; a brother: Royce Altman of Bartow; step-daughter: Shannon Driggers of Lakeland; companion: Clairene McGuire of Bartow; four grandchildren: Eric Altman of Orlando; Ryan Altman, C.J. Johnson & Christina Johnson all of Portland. Family will receive friends Sunday January 9, 4-6 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery.
