Bartow – Beverly H. Etheredge, age 86, passed away on December 3, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. She was born on March 4, 1939, in Lake Wales, FL. Beverly had been a resident of Bartow since 1998, moving there from New Orleans, LA. She also lived in St. Louis from 1976 to 1985. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Nursing, earning her BSN in 1961. During her time at UF, she was a member of the Blue Key Speakers Bureau, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and the University A Cappella Choirs. She worked at Yale New Haven Hospital and the University of Minnesota Hospital and enjoyed being a proud Gator nurse in these northern hospitals. Throughout her adult life, Beverly was consistently involved in volunteer leadership roles in St. Louis, New Orleans, and Bartow. She was deeply committed to serving others—working for 23 years with women and children in transition, and for 13 years with the Salvation Army in New Orleans, where she served as Advisory Board Chairperson. After returning to Bartow, she served for 10 years as President of the Board of the Women’s Care Center. She was also a member of P.E.O. and Kiwanis. A talented musician, Beverly served as a church pianist and organist for over 65 years. She was also a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Bartow. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by the love of her life for 58 years, Edward Ezekiel Etheredge. She is survived by two sons: Edward Etheredge, Jr. and partner Elise Huszar of Lakeland, and William G. Etheredge and wife Cynthia of Lakeland; granddaughter Claire Etheredge of Lakeland, FL; and grandson Jake Etheredge of Lakeland, FL. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Women’s Care Center in Bartow.
