Betty Ruth Powell

Betty Ruth Powell, age 75, passed away January 19th, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice- Lakeland. Betty was born September 29th, 1948 in Nashville, GA. She was a long time resident of Bartow Florida. She was a loving caring and giving mother and wife for most of her life she and also worked for Walmart for many years until she retired. She enjoyed yard-saling and camping, but most of all she enjoyed caring and tending to her flowers in the yard. She always welcomed everyone into her home and enjoyed spending time with all her family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father Bessie and Dan Griner, her four brothers Billy, Troy, Roscoe and Wesley Griner. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger Powell, her son's Brian Griner, James Powell, Ricky Powell and wife Nacole and her daughter Amanda Jernigan and husband Rickey. She is also survived by two sisters Jackie Gautney and Shirley Brooks. 12 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, January 26th 2024, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Whidden- McLean Funeral Home, Bartow.
