Betty Jo Polk

Betty Jo "Bett" Polk, 92, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021 at Bon Secours Maria Manor in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born August 12, 1928 in Bartow, FL Bett spent her childhood in Polk County, moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1950. She returned to Bartow in 1972 where she was a member of the Merry Makers, and the Peace River Country Club. She remained in Bartow until 2017 when she returned to St. Petersburg. Bett was a lifelong homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents William and Evelyn Simons, brother Jim Simons, and Robert O Polk, Sr., her husband of 61 years. Mrs Polk is survived by a brother Bill, sister Doran, daughter Jo, sons Bert and Brad, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bett will be interred, next to her husband, at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery.
