Betty C. Mccall

Mrs. Betty C. McCall, age 70, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home in Homeland. Born May 4, 1940 in Marshell County, Alabama, she moved to the area at an early age and has been a local resident since that time. Mrs. McCall formerly taught cosmetology at Lakeland Beauty Academy. She also worked at Dusty's Camper World. She attended the Church of Christ of Fort Meade, and a member and past board member of the Polk County Historical Association. Mrs. McCall was also active in the activities of the Summerlin Institute of 1959. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry McCall in 1981. Mrs McCall is survived by two daughters; Sherrie Buchanon and husband John of Lake Alfred, and Brandi Goller and husband Chris of Bartow. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow where the family will receive friends Thursday, January 27th from 6PM to 8PM. Funeral services will follow Friday, January 28th at 11:00AM at Homeland Cemetery.
