Bartow - Betty Jean Jacobs, age 90, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 with her daughters by her side. She was born November 28, 1930 in Soperton, GA to Edgar & Zada Horne. She has been a resident of Bartow since 1947, moving from Soperton, GA. She was a Bookkeeper. She was a member of Peace Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband James "Ross" Jacobs, son Dennis Jacobs, brother Edgar "Roy" Horne, two sisters Jewel Thompson & Annell Horton. She is survived by her two daughters Diane Griffith & husband David of Winter Haven and Kimberly Thornburg & husband Jeff of Bartow, six grandchildren Leigh Horton (Randy), Daniel Craver, Stacy Craver, TJ Griffith, Christopher Thornburg (Liv) and Clinton Miller. seven great grandchildren Molly, Clare, Shelby, Emalee, Cidney, Marlie and Dewey, daughter in law Donna Jacobs, sister in law Foy Sears and two brother in laws Dellon Jacobs & Tommy Jacobs. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 25, 2021 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home.
