Babson Park - Betty Booream Glasgow, 89, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016. Born August 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Jack Wines and Adele Haas Booream. She attended local Bartow schools and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Queens College in Charlotte, NC, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and participated in many campus activities. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League in Charlotte and Jacksonville, FL and a member of the Laurel Garden Circle of Jacksonville. Betty was also a member of the St. Johns Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, where she served as a member of the board of Deacons, the Kindergarten Board of Trustees, Women's Bible teacher and Youth leader. She was a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club of Orange Park, FL. She moved from Jacksonville with her husband, of 67 years, Richard G. Glasgow, Sr., to Crooked Lake, Babson Park, FL in 1997. She was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Glasgow Brewer in 1987. She is survived by her husband Richard G. Glasgow Sr.; son, Richard G. Glasgow, Jr. (Norma) of Winter Park, FL; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters in law: Nancy Booream, and Florence Glasgow Vaught. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 2pm to 3pm at Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow or Good Shepherd Hospice.
