Betty Jones Dennis of Cotton Valley, Louisiana, entered into rest on December 30, 2021. She was born to the late John T. Jones and Mary Markham Jones, July 24, 1934, in Springhill, Louisiana. Betty graduated from Sarepta High School in 1952. She was married to Talmadge F. Dennis on December 26, 1951, and they started their life together in the state of Washington until they relocated to Cotton Valley, Louisiana, after Talmadge’s honorable discharge from the Army. Betty was employed People’s Bank & Trust for over 23 years working her way into a management position. In addition to working for People’s Bank & Trust, Betty was of the Christian Faith and a Believer of Jesus Christ. She was a sports enthusiast playing basketball and softball in high school and bowling as a young adult. Her highest score was 290. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play ball. After retirement Betty enjoyed building a new home, entertaining, and taking short trips with family and friends. Those that knew Betty knew her to be witty, warmhearted, straightforward, honest, friendly, frugal, and hardworking. Betty is survived by her three children: two sons, Gary Fulton Dennis (Wife, Candy) of Cotton Valley, Louisiana; Gregory Alan Dennis (Wife, Betty) of Cotton Valley, Louisiana; and daughter, Sharon Kay Dennis of Fort Meade, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren: John A. Dennis (Wife, Melanie); Sandy Dennis Austin (Husband, Gregg); Dustin R. Burke (Wife, Jenna); Megan Burke Zahara (Husband, Matthew); Bradley Chase Dennis (Wife, Brenda). She is survived by 13 Great Grandchildren: Aubrey Dennis, Wesley Dennis, Cole Austin, Case Austin, Caden Austin, Caitlyn Burke, Emma Burke, Madeline Burke, Avery Burke, Colten Zahara, Clay Zahara, Chance Zahara, and Caleb Dennis; Nieces and Nephews: Deryl Jones, Kathy Rye, Barry Jones, Linda Yarusso, Ellen Holten, Mike Jones, Robert Jones, Shelia Lassiter, and Dudley Jones; her dearest and closest friend, Brenda Perkins. Betty was the matriarch of both the Jones and Dennis Families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Talmadge Dennis; her parents, John and Mary Jones; her siblings, Harlin Jones, Warren Jones, and J.L. Jones; grandson, Chad T. Dennis. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 4th at Unity Baptist Church in Cotton Valley, Louisiana. The service will be immediately after the visitation at 11:00 A.M.. Burial will be held at Cotton Valley Cemetery in Cotton Valley, Louisiana. The Dennis Family wishes to thank . . . .
