Betty Louise Roberts Carter

Orlando - Betty Louise Roberts Carter, 87, went to heaven Wednesday, October 24, 2018.  She was born October 31, 1930, in Bradley, Florida, grew up in Fort Meade and was a graduate of Fort Meade High School.  Betty was the youngest daughter of Carlie McClelland Roberts and Luther M. Roberts, the former Fort Meade Chief of Police.  She was a loving and dedicated wife who supported her husband for more than two decades in his service in the U.S. Marines. Betty was a member of Powers Drive Baptist Church of Orlando and later the First United Methodist Church of Apopka. She owned and operated a furniture store and loved animals, particularly her cocker spaniels. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, David Ledger Carter, and son, Wayne David Carter.  She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Walloch (David) of Orlando; grandson, Brian Walloch (Taylor); great grandson, Jameson Carter Walloch; sister, Wilma Roberts Hendrick; five nieces, Donna Faye Cobb, Jean Marlatt, Karen Moseley, Ardelia Ann Wise, and Susan Hendrick; and nephews, Jim Roberts and John Kilpatrick. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Fort Meade, with celebration of life service following at 11:00 am, and interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.
