Beth Harkey Hughes

Beth Harkey Hughes, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Bartow, FL on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was born at her family home in Alturas, FL January 28, 1941, Beth was the youngest of six children of Anthony & Vera Harkey. Beth was a Administrative Assistant for the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. She was a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow. Beth was an avid reader and animal lover. She also enjoyed exercising and swimming with her friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles S. Hughes, Sr. and her four sisters. Beth is survived by her daughter Kim Hughes of Myrtle Beach, SC, son Charles Hughes & wife Gwyndolyn of Bartow, brother Bud Harkey & wife Shirley of Mt Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren Lauren Elizabeth Tidwell, Garrett Earl Hughes and Emily Lyn Hughes.
