Bessie E. Strickland

Bessie E. Strickland, age 81, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Rohr Nursing Home in Bartow of complications of a stroke. Born January 18, 1931 in Bartow, to Claude and Christine Forster, Mrs. Strickland was a longtime resident of Bartow, living in Asheville, NC for 28 years before returning to Bartow. She was a property manager in Asheville for several years. She was a medical office assistant for Dr. John Miller in Bartow for several years. She attended the Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church in Asheville. She is survived by her two sons: William F. "Bill" Voigt of Plant City; Tom Voigt, of Asheville, NC; her daughter: Christie Adkins of Homeland; 7 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Lakeland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2125 US Hwy 98, Lakeland.
