Bertha M. Meeks

Bertha M. Meeks, 92, died Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale from complications of a stroke. Born June 7, 1916 in Havana, FL, Mrs. Meeks has been a resident of the area 68 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband Bill Anthony & her second husband Ernest Meeks and her companion Grady Brown. Mrs. Meeks was survived by her daughter: Linda & husband Moss Flannery of Lake Wales; three sons: Ronald & wife Sandra Anthony of Angleton, TX; Carroll & wife Judy Anthony of Anderson, S.C.; Billy Lee & wife Sharon Anthony of Highland City; sister: Vinnie Clayton of Lakeland; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren & 19 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan 28, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow. Funeral services will follow Thurday 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fitzgerald Cemetery in Lakeland.
