Bertha M. Harrison

Highland City - Bertha M. Harrison, age 83, passed away Wednesday Jan 21, 2009, at her residence of cancer. Born November 12, 1925 in Lakeland, Mrs. Harrison has been a lifeong resident of the area. She was a receptionist for Doctors Miller, Caswell, Coury & Nobo Medical Clinic in Bartow for 20 years and Pre-school director of Bartow Wee Care for 20 years. She was a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church of Bartow. She is survived by four sons; James Harrison, Jr. (Joy) of Bartow, Jerry Harrison (Beverly) of Babson Park, Dennis Harrison (Susan) of Lakeland, Glenn Harrison (Sheila) also of Bartow, and a daughter Diane Hill of Plant City. She also leaves behind two brothers; Ray Thompson of Bartow, Claude Thompson of Orlando, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Arrangments are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Sat. January 24th from 10 to 11 AM.
