Bernice J. Wise

Mr. Bernice J. “B.J.” Wise, age 81, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wise was born on March 17, 1930 in Dothan, AL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as welder in the boilermaker industry. Mr. Wise was a member of Local #433 Teamsters Union out of Tampa. Mr. Wise was a pastor at the full gospel fellowship in Fort Meade many years ago. Recently, he attended the Willow Oak Church of God. He is preceded in death by his wife Edna Wise. Mr. Wise is survived by his wife Hilda Wise of Bartow, his twelve children and step children; W.J. Martin, Travis Martin, Gary Martin, Harry Brogen, Jim Brogen, Bobby Foster, III, Sandra Caraway, Brenda Humphreys, Ann Mitchell, Marty Keen, Betty Picha, and Marie Burnette. He also leaves behind three sisters; Brunetta Dunn, Geraldine Powell, Grace Moore, 32 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow where the family will receive friends Thursday, March 8th from 1PM to 2PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM at the funeral home chapel.
