Bennie R. Rice, Sr.

Lakeland - Bennie R. Rice, Sr., age 89, passed away on February 17, 2026, at his residence in Lakeland. He was born on September 29, 1936, in Plant City, FL. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an Engineering Manager for TECO. He was a member of Scott Lake Baptist Church . He enjoyed reading, shooting, hunting and visiting the homebound. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Rice, sister Carolyn Eady and brother Danny Rice. He is survived by his son Bennie R Rice, Jr. (Brenda) of Plant City, daughter Susan Rice (Jeff Johnson) of Lakeland, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, Plant City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Scott Lake Baptist Church.
