Ben J. "B.J" Garrett

Ocala- Ben J. "B.J." Garrett, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Ocala. Born December 4, 1954 in Lakeland, he was the son of the late Ben Wade Garrett and Lella Mary (Powell) Garrett. B.J. was a Substation Electrician for Duke Energy for 35 years. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his children: Jessica Garrett of Lake Wales, Hunter Garrett (Ashlyn) of Atlanta, GA, his sister Diana Day of Polk City, his longtime partner, Goldie Hester of Ocala and her children: Jessica Harden (Lance and son Liam) along with Lee Gay (Michelle). He also leaves behind his former spouse Cathy Becton Garrett of Lake Wales. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 24th at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales, 338 East Central Avenue in Lake Wales.
