Barbara Lucile Mcelroy Nelson

Mrs. Barbara Lucile McElroy Nelson, age 86, passed away from respiratory failure Friday December 24, 2010. Mrs. Nelson was born on June 27, 1924 in Wheatland, Indiana. She was the Co-Owner of Nelson's Jewel Box in Bartow for 45 years. Mrs. Nelson was charter and life member of Bartow Lioness Club, and a member of the Bartow Pilot Club. She is preceded in death by her husband Sid Nelson, and sons Mike and Bruce. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter-in-law Nell Nelson of Lakeland, two grandsons; Chris Nelson (Julie) of Bartow, Steven Nelson (Heather) of Winter Haven, great granddaughter Riley Nelson and sister Joyce Dunham of Vincennes, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-Mclean Funeral Home in Bartow where the family will receive friends Monday, December 27th from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will follow Tuesday, December 28th at 11:00am.
