Barbara Walker Martin

Barbara Walker Martin, age 83, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in Winter Haven. Born on February 22, 1935 in Bartow, she was the daughter of the late Buell B. and Mary (Hall) Walker. Barbara was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Bartow. She taught kindergarten at the First Methodist School for many years. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James K. "Bud" Martin and two sons: James K. Martin, Jr. and Steve Martin. Barbara is survived by two sons: Scott Martin (Heidi) of Clemmons, NC, and David Martin (Shannon) of Bartow. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 14th from 2pm to 3pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
