Barbara Sue Holmes

Barbara Sue Holmes 72 of Bartow passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from cancer at her residence. A native of Savannah, TN she moved to the Bartow area in 1955 from Savannah. Barbara was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, Women of the Moose Lodge all in Bartow and also a avid Bingo player. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Rex Holmes and is survived by three daughters, Susanne Bennett and husband Robert of Arcadia, Janet Fox of Bartow, and Donna Bumbalough and husband Randy of Fort Meade. Two sons, Thomas Fox and wife Edith of Wahneta and Paul Holmes and wife Judy of Bartow. One sister Nina Daniels and husband Roy of Lake Alfred and best friend Don Reese of Bartow. Eleven grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, July, 20th from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow and funeral services will follow on Saturday at 11am at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Rollings Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven after the service.
