Audrey Helms Robbins

Mrs. Audrey Helms Robbins, age 84, passed away from heart failure Friday, October 30, 2009. Born May 23, 1925 in New Brockton, AL, she was the daughter of Oscar James and Nancy (Byrd) Helms. Mrs. Robbins moved to Bartow 66 years ago from Alabama. She worked for the Polk County School Board as a school bus driver and attendant for 50 years before retiring. She was also member of Homeland Baptist Church. Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her husband Roy Wesley Robbins. She is survived by a loving family that includes two daughters; Janice Hurley, Nancy Watson (Irvin) both of Bartow, her sister Annie Bowman of Ellijay, GA, her four grandchildren; Kim Kirkland (Jason), Tim Watson (Stephanie), Brandy Watson (Dale), Keri Huddleston (Mike) all of Bartow, and 14 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 3rd from 6pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, Nov. 4th at 10:00am at the funeral home chapel.
