Arwyn Faye Wasdin Bland was born on November 24, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Everett and Mable Wasdin. She grew up in Savannah, Georgia. She was very close to her father, a railroad man for Seaboard Railroad, who she lost to a heart attack when she was in high school. She was an excellent student all throughout high school and was always a favorite of her teachers. Arwyn met her husband Richard LaDonne Bland, Sr. and was married in 1955. She was married to him for 22 years. They lived all over the southeast in the sixties and seventies, raising their two children. She met her loving companion, Clifford Maker, in November,1979, and was with him until he died in March of this year. Arwyn is survived by her daughter, Sharalyn Bland Bouley and husband Kevin Bouley, her son Richard LaDonne Bland, Jr., and wife Kathi Kolbinskie Bland. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Phara Daley Gilliams and husband Clayton Gilliams, Christopher Bouley and wife Linda Bouley, Jade Anderson and husband Shaun, Richard LaDonne Bland, III, and wife Elaine Swartz Bland, Jackson Everett Bland, and Savannah Elizabeth Clay and husband James Michael Clay, and her eight great grandchildren. Arwyn was a very intelligent, loving and funny woman and a great mother to her children. She and Cliff were very active in the Fort Meade community in her church, local politics, and local high school sports. Arwyn was President of the Homeowners Association at Oakview Lakes for three years. She loved cats and owned cats her entire life. She was an avid reader who enjoyed talking about history and her family. She enjoyed watching college and professional football. Arwyn loved jewelry and going to her local beauty shop. She had a style that could not be matched and always took great pride in her appearance. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We love you, Arwyn. Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 390 E. Parker Street in Bartow, FL 33830.
