Arthur D. Ellis

Arthur D. Ellis 82 of Bartow passed away Jan. 8, 2009 at Palm Terrace in Lakeland from Cancer. A native of Princeton, WV he moved to Bartow from Lakeland in 1964. Arthur retired from CF Chemicals as Chief Operator with 20 plus years of service. He was also a WWII Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by one son Bill Ellis and two daughters Anita Kay Ellis and Kitty Watson. Arthur is survived by his wife Shirley Scott of Bartow; three daughters Redith Ellis, Mellissa Strickland, Sylvia Scott and husband Steve all of Lakeland; son Merritt Scott of Bartow; brother Bob Ellis of Maryland; eight grandchildren Doug Ellis, Tiffany Ellis, Krista Strickland, Sean Ellis, Brittany Scott, Whittney Scott, Nicky Hall, Holly Scott and several great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Wednesday Jan. 13, 2009 from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
