Antonio Delgado

Mr. Antonio "Tony" Delgado, age 83, died Wednesday November 7, 2007 at home in Lakeland. A native of Cidra, Puerto Rico, Mr. Delgado was a longtime resident of New York, New York, where he worked as a Public Relations Officer and a Teacher for the New York City Board of Education. Mr. Delgado was also an Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Aida Alvelo Delgado of Lakeland, his daughter, Elba Delgado-Benitez (Ephraim) of Lakeland, his son, Rudy Delgado (Arlene) of Staten Island, NY, five grandchildren; Kerima Delgado, Talia Delgado, Liana Perez, Alex Perez, Ashley Delgado, and two great grandchildren; Aliya Rosado, and Zahara Ahmed. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, where family will receive friends Sunday November 11, 2007 from 3 PM to 5 PM. Services will be held Monday November 12, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Turning Point Worship Center, 1400 East Georgia Street in Bartow. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
