Mr. Tony Telleck, age 85, of Bartow, Fla., passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007, from heart failure in Gainesville, Fla. Mr. Telleck was employed by Polk County School Board, where an Assistant Superintendant Director of Finance. Mr Telleck was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as Treasurer, Senior Warden, and on Building Committee. He was also a member of the Bartow Lion's Club for 40 years.
Mr. Telleck was an Army Veteran of World War II where he served in both the Asiatic-Pacific and European Theaters. He was also a highly decorated veteran, earning a Bronze Star for five different campaigns. He also earned the following Decorations and Citations; Purple Heart, EAME Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Medal, American Campaign Medal, Fourragere, Colors Croix de guerre, Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal.
Mr Telleck attended OCS at Fort Benning, GA, and was discharged from the Army in 1947 as a Captain.
Mr. Telleck is preceded in death by his son Roy Alan Telleck.
He is survived by his Wife of 59 years-Flora S. Telleck of Bartow, Fla., Son-Dexter Telleck of Bartow, Fla.,Daughter-Mrs. Renee McDonald of Gainesville, Fla., Son-in-law-Anthony P. McDonald, M.D. of Gainesville, Grandson-J. Brady McDonald, M.D. of Gainesville, Grandson-Matthew A. McDonald of South Bend, Ind., Grandson-Paul S. McDonald of Arlington, Va., Grandson-Michael F. McDonald of Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral service will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 17, 2007.
