Annie W. Chumney

Annie W. Chumney, 81, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Dove Health Care in Lake Wales of cancer. Born February 17, 1929 in Madrid, AL, Mrs. Chumney has been a resident of Bartow since 1949, moving from Alabama. She was a registered nurse for Bartow Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a Baptist. She is preceded in death by her daughter Judy Borden; her brother James Max Womble & sister Lelah Smith. She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Hughie B. Chumney; son: Hughie Chumney, Jr & wife Virginia of Lake Wales; brother: Edmond Womble of Cowarts, AL; sisters: Valeria Smith & Mary Dykes both of Dothan, AL; 8 grandchildren: Angie Chumney; Hughie Chumney III; Joseph Chumney; Michael Chumney; Randy Roman; Teresa Roman; Jonathan Borden; Rick Fischer; 4 great grandchildren: Elizabeth Goluba; Jessica Goluba; T.J. Boston & Hughie Chumney IV. Family will receive friends Monday, Feb 22, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
