Amada Garza Medina, age 85, passed away from congestive heart failure July 22, 2014 in Stanton, TX. Mrs. Medina was born on September 4, 1928 in Mercedes, TX. She was the daughter of the late Efrain Garza and Porferia Alvarado. Mrs. Medina was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Santos Medina, Sr. She is survived by a loving family that includes six daughters: Graciela Valdez (Roy) of Kalamazoo, MI, Yolonda Williams of Fort Meade, Rosalinda Mindling of Stanton, TX, Anna Breen (Russ) of Kemp, TX, Janie Belk (Danny) of Copperas Cove, TX, and Amy Montz (Frank) of Lake Placid, six sons: Santos Medina Jr. (Angie) of Fort Meade, Joe Medina (Lisa) of San Benito, TX, Fr. Gilbert Medina of Eustis, Roy Medina of Stanton, TX, Rick Medina of Lake Placid, and Robert Medina of Cape Coral, twenty-six grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind four sisters: Minerva Solis, Virginia Castillo, Bernarda Morin, and Elvia Howard. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 27th from 5pm-7pm with a wake service at 7pm at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 11am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Mission 101 Edgewood Drive, Fort Meade. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to St. Vincent da Paul Society at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church 218 Ocklawaha Ave, Eustis, FL 32726.
